October 22 was a special day for Sheila Chatman and her daughter Emonie . October 22 was the day their new home on W. Washington Street was dedicated, and they became official homeowners for the very first time. Sheila, along with friends, relatives, and Habitat volunteers, worked approximately 18 months refurbishing and rebuilding a home that she now shares with her daughter. She spent numerous Saturdays working on her home, putting in hours of sweat equity which are necessary to be a Habitat homeowner. Because of her dedication and her willingness to work and partner with Habitat, Sheila is now a homeowner. |
| Habitat is more than just building houses. Habitat builds new lives for people and creates lasting friendships as homes are built. Sheila, as a new homeowner, now has the satisfaction of knowing that hard work pays off. Congratulations to Sheila and Emonie Chatman on their new home. |
